Love was the defining quality of Christ Jesus’ life and practice—and what he recommended to his students. He said:

“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.“

Luke 10:27

The discoverer of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, was a devoted follower of Jesus. She wrote in her primary book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures:

“The vital part, the heart and soul of Christian Science, is Love.”
