Love was the defining quality of Christ Jesus’ life and practice—and what he recommended to his students. He said:

“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.“

The discoverer of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, was a devoted follower of Jesus. She wrote in her primary book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures:

“The vital part, the heart and soul of Christian Science, is Love.”

Our mission is to follow Christ Jesus, who loved and healed mankind of sin and sickness and impressed on his students in all generations that they, too, should do as he did.
