Christian Character
"The law of the wise is a fountain of life to depart from the snares of death."
(Proverbs 13:14)
The inspiration for this week’s Wednesday testimony came after attending the Living Church Committee meeting this past Sunday. In my prayerful time in preparation for the meeting, I had many ideas that just had not gelled. But after the meeting it became clear to me that being governed only by pure motives in my interactions with others could I be truly living church. We are a Christian Church, following the teachings of our Master, Christ Jesus. We need to act according to that teaching. So, what are we taught? I turned to the New Testament and Science and Health for guidance on how to live a Christian life. The readings will include the parable of the Sower. We will sing hymn 305, 423, and 42 from the Christian Science Hymnal.
In preparation here is one verse of Hymn 42 that we will sing:
Come, Thou all-transforming Spirit
Bless the sower and the seed;
Let each heart Thy grace inherit;
Raise the weak, the hungry feed;
From the Gospel, from the Gospel
Now supply Thy people’s need.
Come and share how you have been transformed through your prayers. All who listen are so grateful for support of this meeting. Every truth expressed is multiplied out a hundredfold!
