The world picture can seem confusing and disturbing, with loud and often conflicting and divisive voices purporting to speak for Christianity, Judaism and Islam. But the Christian Science textbook reveals one Mind, one Truth, one Christ, one Divine Science—and no confusion; no evil; no wars.

The Greek word which is translated "repent" in the New Testament is "metanoeo" which literally means "a change of mind" or "think again." It refers to a profound change of heart, a reorientation of one's entire outlook, a new way of perceiving reality. Click the image for more.

According to modern medical science, "There is no cure for the common cold." Most people just accept that colds are a part of life. That winter is a season for "catching a cold." Sometimes the pictures of national division and upheaval, with violent protests (as we’ve recently seen in Minneapolis), can seem overwhelming…and destructive of hope and faith. Jesus warned about (and predicted) the emergence of such pictures, but that we shouldn’t be afraid. He was unshakably confident in His sense of the safety and presence of His Father’s kingdom. How can we pray about this cold weather? Are there examples in the Bible of people who were saved from severe weather. Yes! There are many. This week, we will be reading about Paul's journey to Italy, and how he and the crew of his ship were saved from a severe storm.
