The world picture can seem confusing and disturbing, with loud and often conflicting and divisive voices purporting to speak for Christianity, Judaism and Islam. But the Christian Science textbook reveals one Mind, one Truth, one Christ, one Divine Science—and no confusion; no evil; no wars.

"Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." --Christ Jesus

The Greek word which is translated "repent" in the New Testament is "metanoeo" which literally means "a change of mind" or "think again." It refers to a profound change of heart, a reorientation of one's entire outlook, a new way of perceiving reality. Click the image for more.

According to modern medical science, "There is no cure for the common cold." Most people just accept that colds are a part of life. That winter is a season for "catching a cold." And after a few days, it will clear up, with maybe a lingering cough for a bit longer. As Christian Scientists, do we allow this concept to creep into our thought? Jesus warned about (and predicted) the emergence of such pictures, but that we shouldn’t be afraid. He was unshakably confident in His sense of the safety and presence of His Father’s kingdom. How can we pray about this cold weather? Are there examples in the Bible of people who were saved from severe weather. Yes! There are many. A cause is that which brings about an effect or a result. The Bible points to God as the one divine Cause of all effects.
