An expectation of growth in the church
"Creation is ever appearing, and must ever continue to appear from the nature of its inexhaustible source."
(Science and Health, page 507)
Over 100 years ago, a Denver newspaper published an article commemorating the dedication of the Extension of The Mother Church. The article noted that the emergence of Christian Science was, in some respects, ‘the greatest religious phenomenon of all history’ (My. 89: 29 the). Is there a spiritual basis for an expectation of growth in the church that has given voice to this phenomenon? We’ll explore what the pastor of the Christian Science church has to say on this topic. We will be singing hymns 439, 261, and 176 from the Christian Science Hymnal.
