Restoration of Man to His Right Mind
"All that error asks is to be let alone; even as in Jesus' time the unclean spirits cried out, 'Let us alone; what have we to do with thee:'"
(Miscellany page 211)
Halloween is just a few days away. Many think about costumes for parties or horror movies to see -- fun activities with family and friends this weekend!
But Halloween or -- All Hallows Eve -- is a celebration for remembering the dead including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful. Some Christian traditions light candles on the graves of the dead, some abstain from meat, still others attend church services. Many cultures have similar celebrations annually for their dead such as the Chinese with sweeping of the tombs, called Qingming Festival.
We will not be doing any of those! For our Wednesday readings we will hear from our Pastor on the topic of evil spirits. The healing of the Gadarene man by Christ in the Bible and selections from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy will be our focus before testimony time. We will sing hymn 201, 496, and 312 from the Christian Science Hymnal.
Instructions for attending the service online may be found here.
